Jaut had a phonecall went sick today gout in the foot been told won’t get sick pay for this week ….

Yeah, our office was told today they aren't paying sick pay if you self certify.
Obviously, it's a basic legal requirement to pay at least SSP, if you're off sick for 4 days or more. The NHS tells you to self certify for first 7 days. So are they even putting in place a process to pay SSP? if not, that's highly illegal.
In terms of the not paying contractual sick pay, that surely is breach of contract. I'm guessing the company thinks, if you're on strike you've already breached your contract, so if you take them to tribunal, they'd probably respond in kind.
It's lovely working for such a nasty company. I'm pretty close to leaving, but then that's what they want us to do. Bastards.

Speak to your rep. I'm sure a grievance will be the first step. Can you get a doctors note, that would help?
