I am trying to contact HR and speak to a person regarding my notice to leave royal mail
I tried calling the number on my payslip unfortunately it has all automatic messages
I want to know the procedure to leave royal mail (I don't trust my manager)
I work 6 years as a part timer

Generally speaking if you're paid weekly you only have to give a weeks notice, if your paid monthly then it's a month. There are a few weird contracts thought with some of the New Joiners.

You can just walk out the door if your COMs messing you about (it's happened in my office) it just means it takes longer for them to sort out your owed wages/holiday etc.

Managers will ALWAYS try and delay your leaving date because it leaves them short staffed. Brilliant Time to Leave . Good Luck

I’m a part timer if 6 years and my offer of employment states 4 weeks notice is required, as does the relevant section on the people app.

Find out your notice period on your contract (mine was 4 weeks, I joined in 2017) and work out when your notice period will be up. I think some older contracts are just 1 weeks notice.

Email or write to your manager stating you are handing in your notice and your last date of employment will be xx/xx/xxxx.

That's what I did and no issues. I did not contact HR.

You may owe or be owed annual leave depending on how much of your entitlement you have taken so make sure you get that sorted (especially if they owe you time/money). I was owed 2 days and had this paid in my last weekly wages as we were too busy for the office to give me the days off before I finished.

Going by groundhog_day's post it was April 2017 when the notice period was changed from one week to four weeks. If the OP has been in for 6 years then it is pretty much certain that they need to give one week's notice.

Make sure you print off or screenshot everything you may need that is on the App as access to it will stop on your last day! And be sure to fully check your pay is correct before you last day. I found that all out when I left 4 months ago.

Some obviously think that if they've got the chance to get out of this shambles - do it, rather than continue to be dangled by the plums by management for a "possible" VR....which could all change again by tomorrow!

Been the easiest Dec ever.

Of course it's been the easiest Christmas ever .... we no longer have to deliver all those tons of Christmas Cards....... because we're now a Parcel Delivery Firm!
