I think the minimum service is currently only railworkers, I believe. The ban on emergency workers not being allowed to strike, is only at the stage where Sunak has refused to rule it out. I've just read a guardian piece where both Starmer and Reeves have apparently refused to repeal the laws, when in power. The information could be wrong, I'm sure it'll be corrected if it is.

They could pass a law saying RM must deliver tracked and specials

What will happen in the future if we have industrial disputes with our employer Royal mail?

Well, counter it with well-reasoned arguments then.

Unfounded comments like this whether they are for or against striking members or management are counter-productive and feed the narrative of this site is full of "Rabid Left wing knuckledraggers". I am left wing and I think some on our side need to up our game.

The laws are a trap for the next Labour government. They'll be under pressure to repeal them, at the same time under pressure from union's to award large pay rises in line with inflation. Labour gonna inherit a financial mess, and probably conclude such rises are unaffordable and politically difficult as the private sector won't be getting rises anything like inline with inflation rises. That'll then split the party.

Many employees are not clued up on government legislation, that is why they asked for advice as a layperson. How can an employee asking questions offer a reasoned argument with little or no understanding of that current legislation?

The headline was "Starmer refuses to say he will repeal anti union laws" but I believe he actually said he'd wait and see whether they actually happen before commenting as this government backtrack every couple of days...
Not really a fan of Starmer but the "they're all the same" argument doesn't really wash when the Tories have presided over such cataclysmic disasters whilst getting very rich

The labour party must have a massive opportunity to get people on his side, granted he might not be able to sanction big pay rises but he could promise to uphold workers rights so we arnt dragged into having dreadful working environments ?

Trade Unions that campaigned for Brexit such as the RMT have allowed the Tories this bonfire of workers rights.

The EU offered minimum protections with the right to strike through the Social Chapter and the TFEU.

Those minimum worker protections are now extinct since we left the EU allowing the tories to do whatever they like.
