Re: Thompson's letter to the public
I wonder if it'll even come to VR to be honest. If 10,000 is the number they're after they recruit that every year and currently have about 11,000 agency staff, so there's plenty to trim (cost free) before anybody gets a payout. It's scaremongering I suspect.norris9 wrote: ↑08 Dec 2022, 16:45I don't understand how it even goes as far as compulsory redundancies....Seymour Buts wrote: ↑08 Dec 2022, 12:27Says no compulsory redundancies. Change of mind? Just fibbing? Or VR over subscribed?
It sounds like a lot of people applied for VR and not that many are getting it. This is based on comments on here and the VR Poll we have running on another thread - I get it - there's only been 300 votes so far in that poll, but it probably gives a reasonably accurate representation of the state of play with VR....
So how does this even go as far as CR? Anyone that understands redundancy processes please reply....

Yea I agree they are just ringing doorbell jumping in van then driving off, not even waiting to see if someone’s in!! And the amount of parcels on doorsteps is ridiculous and some left in the rain….

Will there be a new best and final offer? Sounds like he still wants us out at night delivering biscuits. He also doesn’t mention the absolute shite terms the new recruits are offered.

Does the 11000 include managers?

COM stated in his motivational speech this morning that he had around 30 out of the 45 duties covered for tomorrow's strike. Sickening. Sections of my office I'm the only one striking amongst grown men giggling like school kids how they're going on the piss all weekend, buying the latest games console, clothes, watches etc. Boasting about all the O/T they're getting clearing the backlog.
f**k 'em, used to be a great place to work now I dread going in.

Re: Thompson's letter to the public
I thought same too but this time, probably after all the criticism, they've specifically stated 11,000 OPGs.Minischoles wrote: ↑08 Dec 2022, 15:00For the strike breakers, bear in mind they're probably counting other parts of the business as well, not just delivery (to fudge the numbers even more).
I know for example that there are a fair few people in Customer Service who came in on the last two days, and there are probably those in all the other back office roles coming in.
So it could very well be there's 11,000 people in, but like half of those are in roles that don't deliver or process any mail.

Yeah I’m in same boat. All the strike breakers laughing and joking, talking about the works Christmas do ! Horrible behaviour, and the worst part of it is that they are totally blind to what’s going on. Nationwide though, it's been a very commendable effort with a huge majority supporting the strikes and staying out.

Did he write it himself or did he copy it of a white board or just Dictate again like he is use to!
