Hi, I was looking on the careers page at postman with Driving roles says the rate is £11.59 per hour. It used to go up after 6 months and after a year service. Is this still the case? Also what about the weekly delivery supplement that used to be advertised?

Also i believe it’s 40 hours work with no paid breaks. Which sounds appalling for the work you will be expected to complete and the pressure you will be under.

What sick pay do they get, holiday pay, pension, paid meal relief?

If you fancy the job give it a go. You might enjoy it. For all the whinging on this site very few seem able to move on.
If you can get a better paid easier job elsewhere then do that.

38 years in the job mate and I have never seen such a s**t show. Your round will be not be achievable and you will have daily rows with your manager about it. If you have a choice don’t work for this lot.

Ive been in 7 months and would advise you try for something better. If you dont have a job at the moment then go for the interview. A job with Royal Mail would buy you sometime to look for something better. If you already have a job, dont leave it for Royal Mail.

You won’t be getting the delivery supplement, that’s been removed for new starters. You won’t though be put on a 40 hour a week contract, it will be less hours than that. But you will be asked to be flexible, so you may end up working at least 40 hours, or more. You will probably be put under pressure to ‘do more’.
There is a lot of very understandable emotion with the replies you have received, probably not the best time to join with all the strikes and RM trying to change what is already a very hard physically demanding job.
