Happened in our place this week. Anyone else? About 40 went off on Monday with a bug going round. People forced in clearly ill, coughing, white as a sheet, stressed etc

Yep, sign of things to come. Those who are doubting the action we are taking... this is to protect us getting bare minimal for being sick to the point where we feel like we have to come in to get decent pay and thus spreading around the germs and bugs we are incubating.

Happened at our place last week agency guy turned up coughing and totally unwell because he only gets ssp on agency and then went in shared van with someone who is now off sick with similar symptoms. This is the future where you come in and spread it, but they say this will save money!

It’s not legal to do that if you self certify which everyone does just by telling them you are too Ill to work
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Has any royal mail employee (not agency) had it in writing that there pay will be stopped if they go sick?

Royal Mail as an attendance procedure so
Don't give in to threats or intimidation by local managers.

Law clearly states self certification for 7 days if you are sick.

RM rules are stringent enough without the harassment.

He hasn't indicated if he works in a Mail Center or a large Delivery office, so definitely possible..

But we all know royal mail managers have more knowledge of medical conditions than doctors and nurses. ST will probably offer their services to the NHS if they do strike at xmas :cuppa
