We unloaded two trailers this morning that arrived at the MC on Saturday morning and couldn't be unloaded as we had no room. The one that didn't get unloaded on Tuesday morning by the night staff was unloaded later in the day by the day staff.

We don't get notified of the contents of the yorks, just the number of yorks that are on the trailer. If we ended up with a similar situation, they'd have to park it in the street as our yard doesn't have the room to have an artic parked up

Delivered a Special Delivery posted on 3/12 today. Also delivered 1st class packets posted 5/12. I guess it depends on which MC they came through as to how quick they get there.

Anyway our office is still nowhere near clear. A bit better than yesterday but Thursday is usually a shocker, then Friday

Were those 2 trailers parked in the yard the entire 4 days? If so, that’s 2 trailers that were unavailable for other Network runs. If this is repeated at even a few dozen other sites around the country, that’s going to also slow the efforts to clear the backlog, surely?

PRDC is still rammed.
There were some pallets in today that bore the words ‘Property of HWDC’, which implies work is being diverted from the Heathrow hub.
One PRDC driver said he had to wait over an hour on Tuesday evening for a bay to become available at HWDC, to allow him to offload…

They must have been single stacker trailers, double stacker trailers AFAIK need power to be provided by the cab unit to be able to operate the internal lift

Both were double deck trailers. We have power packs to lower the deck or use a shunter from the VOC.

The most I counted was twenty boxes of sequenced next to one frame, other walks had between eight and fifteen just sitting there, not counting the mail from IPS

Most of the year we send out a box a walk on wave 1, maybe two boxes for the odd walk. During Xmas pressure it can sometimes be 3 boxes per walk, with the odd walk getting 4 boxes. The CSS machines tend to chuck out lots of rejects when there's lots of Xmas cards.

Most of the year we have the option of running some sequencing on the iLSMs (IMPs for MCs that have them) but this time of year they'll all be running outward sort plans. I can see us reverting to walk sort at some point or if it gets bad enough, just sending the batches out as they are, without them going through a machine to be walk sorted or walk sequenced.

Not had any backlog so far so there must be loads of mail for us stuck upstream somewhere

Where is the backlog you speak of? You've been saying this for two weeks
