My manager phoned me today and said I'm second pick to go and names have to be in by the 9th December and 1 going from our office if I was still interested so what makes you say its shelved?

Loads applied at our place & as far as I know the gaffer is going through them on a seniority basis
“Shorts,in this weather?!”

“If they’re bills I don’t want ‘em!”

“What’s she been ordering now?”

We got told that it was heavily over-scribed and unlikely that VR would get offered

Was it all a big publicity stunt? I think so. What company puts out to the media that they need to make 10,000 redundancies but then recruit over 11,000 temporary agency workers that cost the business more money??

Answer: A badly run company
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Probably,all adds up.

Another one of Simons publicly stunts, aimed to get into our heads, upset us & potentially stop us from striking

If it’s true if it has been massively over subscribed , you would think that someone up top may start to question why thousands of people are willing to walk away from our “ best terms and conditions “
They’ve probably realised that the thousands of casual workers they want to replace us with are not that interested in working here .

It’s not been pulled, 10 at our office have been informed they’ve been offered it, just a case of waiting for letter, then cheerio, apparently 31st March not 31st Jan.
I also found out nearly 50% out of an office of 118 office applied for it, doesn’t half show how staff have had enough.
I applied but narrowly missed out,
