Just left and am chasing missing pay!

Post by user_66 »

Hi all,
So after realising that a 25 hour a week part-time contract isn’t going to put food on the table, let alone pay the rent, I have decided to move on. It’s a shame because I did sincerely like all of my colleagues and customer too, but my DOM has continuously messed up my hours and subsequently, my pay.
My issue now though, is chasing up, what I believe to be, missing pay and as I am locked out of the People App, I can’t even access my pay slips or P60 etc to see specific details.
This latest issue first arose 3 weeks ago, when I had an unpaid sick day and this resulted in an £8 pay day!! £8 for 4 days work and a few hours of OT on top & according to my manager, this was because “ no one marked me in as returning back to work”.The “no one” being him. He reassured me that me that it would all be sorted out and added to my final week’s pay ( last week ) of 25 hours + with my accrued Leave Pay of 7.5 hours… so moving on, I have just £350 deposited into my bank account…£350 for 1 week’s work,4 days missing pay, about 6 hours of OT + 7.5 hours of leave!
I’m at my wits end with this. Can’t access my App, waiting for my last payslip to be delivered, a DOM, who I’ve had to chase week in,week out over an 8 month period to get my OT and hours sorted and now this.
So, please, anyone, who can I turn to?

I know this doesn't help but I can confirm from when I left that access to the App was stopped on the day I left (possibly before my finish time). I got my P45 in the post on my final day, but the week after leaving I received overtime and holiday pay that was owed and I did get a pay slip in the post for that. With the current delays I appreciate that there will be a delay in you getting that pay slip, until you know what the £350 is for you won't know what you are owed.

I was due over £500 holiday pay when I left previously and like you was messed about for months, union rep didn't want to know because I was no longer employed therefore had left the union despite paying my dues every week at royal mail. I ended up writing a final letter I would not be in touch again and the next letter would be a date for the small claims court and I duly received what was owed.

How long were you employed for, I think I started on a temporary contract so wasn't paying pension and I think they repaid my pension contributions due to being under a year or two employed by RM at the time. There was no indication at the time what the payment was, it just appeared in my bank.

Rules on pension contributions may have change as that was around 2015?

Thanks for the reply, but I hope it doesn't come to this.
