Did you notice how there was no mention of the compulsory redundancies that Royal Mail wants . IMO , there can never be an agreement while compulsory redundancies are still on the table .

Dave if he has no intention of negotiating a settlement please just leave the meeting. And maybe even call an additional strike day before Christmas for wasting our time!

Probably there to discuss his final and best offer. The way it is worded is about the harm done to employees and the business. Not sure he'll change much.

He makes reference to the "final offer" in the 3rd paragraph. "Upto 9% over 18 months". The letter is also extremely one sided. He seems intent to yet again, to paint us and the CWU heads in an extremely bad light with reference of picket line behaviour. Has anyone heard anything from the police regarding the alleged "issues" on the picket line? Has it been mentioned anywhere else other than from ST?

This reads like "you have been summoned to the headmasters office for a talking to about your attitude". And it doesn't seem to mention anything about compromise on the company line.

He's only repeating everything for the company's position.

With that stance at the meeting, I expect him to have his fingers in his ears and going "la la la".

Wasting everyone's time yet again.

I'm not a graphologist Eastie,
But Look at that signature, where he's underscored Simon, a lot of pen pressure in the dot at the end, don't you think?

99% this meeting will be nothing but waste of time. I really doubt he is willing to back down on redundancies and drop the changes. I feel sorry for Dave that he has to deal with him. He's accepted the need to negotiate but is refusing to move on his demands. What a tool.

If I were Dave reading about behaviours on the picket line, my response would be that this has nothing to do with our pay & conditions being eroded, and is irrelevant for what we are fighting for.

It's a separate matter that probably needs to be discussed at a later date, but it's not top priority. Or is it Simon? He's an odd one, and really needs to get back to the table or shown the back door.

Maybe I’m reading too much into it but 1st letter from ST says our best and final offer then 2nd letter says discuss our offer :nervous
