You can always use a app called circuit. Although it’a only free for first 2 weeks it is a really good app for delivering when you have tons of parcels all over the place, can scan the addresses in with your camera and it optimises the route. Agency staff use it in my office.

Ron on the PDA is actually pretty good, the GPS is very accurate now.

How do you prevent parcels from moving all over the place in the van?

I'd put them in sacks or boxes relative to each street and just tip the parcels out for the next street before going there, finding the first parcels at the start of that street and bobs your uncle - go from there. Stops everything getting mixed up.

Drive slower and avoid harsh braking seems the obvious answer? Also put a cardboard york sleeve under the parcels.

no idea how they would stay in place even if you drove like an old granny.

I think I'll just stick to putting them in sacks per road.

Works ok if you can get a barcode to scan, doesn't operate off your regular delivery code which slows things down a bit. Only sacks, cardboard and trays can help separate parcels really. Some companies have better methods.

I mainly do rural areas on Sunday, yeah 95% of the time it's spot on. Trick is to look at the dot on the map when you get there. Once, I figured it out that the house was actually accessed on another road round the back of where the PDA said, you have arrived at your destination. It's very accurate though.

Yeah having to manually put the code in is a bind. 95% scan first time though I've found.
