I asked my manager about the VR's on Saturday and he told me it had been paused for the moment. I asked him why and he said he had no idea.

I Think the VR offer was just a data gathering exercise for seeing the numbers of who wants to go. The company wants/needs a reduction in the USO. Once it eventually achieves this I honestly think they won't be offering VR, only compulsory redundancy. As they will want to resize the company with maximum effect at a minimum cost. Remember there is no more money. I also honestly think there is no deal to be had, Thompson & board are playing everyone, us, the union & the public.

If you want to stay & hang on, then do so. But if you've got another job lined up, I wouldn't be hanging around imho.

Not sure it'll be that late that's when they want half these jobs to go and the process of redundancies will take some time?
