Re: How is your DO/MC looking?
Rammed in the MC and out on the deck. Not unusual for this time of year, it has to be said. Angard casuals, faces not seen for a long time, seemingly called in in preference to RM Christmas casuals, so perhaps a recognition that staff with some experience might be useful in an emergency. Specials sent out of the locker unscanned and only partially sorted. No chance of clearing 24T or 1C.

Re: How is your DO/MC looking?
Fire exit and gangways blocked off with yorks of mail when I got back off delivery. We had last weeks mail yesterday so I’m expecting a barrage from the MC.

Re: How is your DO/MC looking?
It was way quieter than I expected, seem more like a normal Xmas pressure day. It makes me think that there's a shitload of mail for us stuck somewhere upstream of us

that's a serious matter, don't put your health and safety or anyone else (for that matter) at riskkazardaimenu wrote: ↑03 Dec 2022, 04:42Fire exit and gangways blocked off with yorks of mail when I got back off delivery. We had last weeks mail yesterday so I’m expecting a barrage from the MC.

Re: How is your DO/MC looking?
Massive queue of lorries waiting to get into PRDC in Willesden last night at 7pm. Queuing back from the gate, across the bridge over the A406, curving all around the slip road and under the access bridge.
Pallets of unprocessed parcels stored in every conceivable space, including the unused platforms 3 & 4 (where nested Yorks are usually parked).
They even had to dismantle the powered rollers for tracked machine 3, just to free-up storage space for more pallets. Thus reducing processing capacity by 16% !
(I’d post pictures but don’t want any managers on here to take a guess at who posted them)

We've been ignoring health and safety procedures for so long I don't know if it's something anyone even thinks about it anymore. Nothing would ever be cleared if we didn't cut corners. But that's always the way when cost-cutting is the name of the game. I've worked in a couple of businesses before where the staff had enough and called in health and safety inspectors and the companies were forced to take action based on their reports.

Re: How is your DO/MC looking?
You're 100% right, but this is something we can do every working day.....stick to SSOW all the time......check every york, if its slightly damaged, take it out of service....don't touch a york if its overloaded by 1mm....don't allow casuals to do it instead.....there's a 1000 things like this you can do.....stick to the rules.

Re: How is your DO/MC looking?
DO rammed, 90% of walks went out tracked only and the people that took mail brought most of it back. Absorption routes still unmanned as not enough staff, COM said there were still "thousands" of tracked due tonight and tomorrow...
But hey at least we get to put our D2Ds in on Monday!

Re: How is your DO/MC looking?
Pretty much every other round has been left in today. There is a backlog of mail and a backlog of unscanned small tracked items (16 yorks worth). Unprocessed D2D’s galore. Fun fun fun. Start on time, take breaks, end on time, use trollies. It’s the most wonderful (easiest) time of the year.
