I work for royal mail for 6 years now
Unfortunately with these all going on I have decided to leave the company because it is not a good place to work anymore.
I will give a notice to my manager on Monday
The notice should be for 4 weeks?
Do I have do to do anything else?
What about my annual leave ?

Spooky I’m 6 years as well and got a job interview elsewhere tomorrow.
My employment letter states 4 weeks.
I’ve 2 weeks holiday owed, would be happy to leave in 2 weeks if they wanted, or else they have to pay you it.
Didn’t bother with redundancy because of seniority and there’s 100’s before me.

VR won't be issued on seniority they have already made that clear! But if you haven't applied for it already you will in theory miss out on the extra £6000 on offer for putting in for it early. Which would have made it worth putting in for. I guess 6 years worth of basic VR won't be worth holding out for if you have another job to go to?

Good luck mate sad to see good people leaving the business , I did a spell in delivery for 9 years back in the 1989 fantastic people and driven posties I had the privilege to work with and socialise playing football in the Stanley cup competition across the delivery offices I worked along side my fellow workers delivering mail on a bicycle never forgotten the camaraderie amongst the posties .

I’ve worked for the business now going on 34 years wanting to go now had enough it won’t be long before i leave the business even without VR , I stand with my work colleagues on the picket lines to fight for my fellow colleagues posties who are the future of this business, which my fellow posties did for me before I joined the RM .

Good decision if you want to leave, leave now plenty of opportunities available at the moment VR going to take atlest jan-feb by the time may be other jobs wont available Xmas is over

Royal Mail hasn't been a good place to work, for the best part of almost 2 decades now

I'd just go Sick with stress and say you are unable to return to such a poisonous workplace. Certainly wouldn't endangerer getting a better job. As for a reference if you're wondering all they do is confirm from when and until you were employed

Told last week that no one will get VR at ours since we are short and if they did it would be on seniority Don’t know what to or who to believe any longer.
Yes not worth the waiting around to find out anyway with 6 years and the quicker I can get away the better. Shame really because I did like the job but not worth the effort anymore.

You need to ask your COM/Manager for your Last Day of Service (LDOS). They will calculate this with any A/Leave owed.
So in theory you could be gone before your 4 weeks is up.

Are you sure about that? It was either Apr 17 or Apr 18 that it changed from 1 week to 4 weeks, so if you joined before Apr 17 then it should only be 1 week. Make sure you are reading the bit about notice that you give them and not the other way round.

If you use the People App make sure you have all the info (pay slips etc) that you need printed out. I left a few months ago and was unable to access the App on my final day, they withdraw it immediately. There was an error (deliberate?) in my final pay and I couldn't check on the App, I had to wait for the pay slip to turn up. I had holiday overtime pay incorrectly taken back off of me which shouldn't have been, be sure to take screenshots of your leave record in case someone tries the same trick with you.

I gave 1 week's notice but agreed to extend it to 10 days so that my owed leave could be used. You will only be entitled to leave accrued from 1 Apr to you last day, I make that to be around 16 days, plus any you carried forward from last year. If you have used that many days since 1 Apr already then you won't be owed any, and if you have used more then you may owe them money back. My P45 was delivered on my final day.

Not the case. The notice period will be shown in the contract that was issued when you joined.
