Can anyone actually see this dispute ending well? I’ve been offered a job for another delivery company that’s 40hrs a week (over 7 days). I actually quite enjoy being a postman, and I’m in 2 minds whether to stay and hope for the best or just get out while I can. Is anyone else in a similar position?

If the job you've even offered is better than the one you have then no reason to stay tbh.

I can honestly say at my office I think there must be about 40 out of 50 ready to walk.

What you need to consider is that even if this dispute ends in an agreement (heaven knows how though given how despicable the posties are being treated currently), the clock will immediately start ticking towards the next dispute. It is just a vicious circle.
Some ask if your prospective job will have better terms - wherever this dispute ends, your terms will have deteriorated, and back they will come for more in the next pay negotiations.

What's the new job and how does the pay etc compare out of interest?

It’s quite similar pay when you work it out hourly, but it’s 8:30-5pm 5 days a week and working weekends. It’s for DPD

My advice to everybody in deliveries is, leave, as soon as you possibly can.
Things will never get better in this damned company.
Thanks to all the compromises the CWU made with management in the past, this job is dreadful now.
Another compromise meaning we walk back into a job made even worse, will signal the end for many.

The job on delivery had declined dramatically even prior to this dispute, and even a favourable agreement this time will revolve around concessions that will continue the decline. Then the next dispute will follow the same pattern. I would suggest that everybody gets used to the modern world, in which your loyalty to your job extends only so far as your employer’s loyalty to you.

do you have to pay for the van hire with DPD?
I thought they used self employed drivers.

Done this job long enough that we will get some of what we want and they get some of the stuff they want. And it will keep happing these people with faint hearts or the sunny uplands everyday are not for this place because IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN!

I wouldn't jump ship so soon unless you get a job with similar or better T&Cs, there are other considerations such as sick pay, leave entitlements and pensions.

Sus it all out before jumping ship first.
