"No Free Weeks" for A/L

So I've moved offices and ended up with a week spare in A/L for the current year which wasn't booked in my old office. I've asked to book it in multiple times and now I'm being told there are no free weeks and that they will have to pick one for me. Surely this isn't allowed? Any advice would be great

If there’s no free weeks how can they possibly choose one if they can choose one it means u can choose a week as there’s weeks available

The law in this country, they cannot stop you taking annual leave. No spaces being available is not your problem, they would lose that one at a tribunal. They can tell you when to take your annual leave.

Put in a grievance, and follow the procedure.
Tell them you are not happy with the week that you are being ushered onto, and that you should have a reasonable pick of weeks as it is not your fault that the week has accrued.
They won't like it but if you are determined you should get a pick.

Grievance procedure will probably mean you get to pick it for 24/25 !

Surely in this day and age all leave should be 52 weeks as the mail is dropping as Simon keeps telling us

They might choose one that they think is easier to cover through lapsing or overtime.
