Locally if they were to do the same, that'd probably be at least 1/3, perhaps around 1/2 of the staff on shift gone

Replaced by agency workers?

Seems a day doesn't go by now without some destructive dumbing down of the company by incompetent boardroom management.

I did wonder when they were going to do this. Fixed term was all they offered on delivery for a while. I wonder how many of them there still is?

If it does end up happening everywhere, that might leave some shifts in MCs short on staff who are either mech and/or SD locker trained

Are people that have less than 6 months service on temporary contracts? or am I talking nonsense?

First 6 months temporary before being put on a permanent contract?

Isn’t the 1st 6 months a kind of probation period?

Wouldn’t it just be a case of signing back up for your job put on less pay and no terms&conditions?

Fixed term contracts from my view are like contracts builders etc got, then the contract got reviewed close to the end of said contract and renewed if work was still there.

Not sure how RM view fixed term, myself i was on a temp 6 month contract and if i did the job well it would convert into a perm contract.

Have started to see all the new jobs posted have the new contracts in place with the new wage and monthly pay

Wait until the new starters realise their partner is getting more pay for doing the same work
I would imagine the turnover would be worse than Amazon
They will not last long 😁

£11.59 per hour isn't great for such physical work. I'm sure they were advertising at £13.37 an hour last week or one before.
The overtime rate is listed as 1.25x but no mention of how many hours you need to do to get it, anything over base contract?

£11.59 is slave wages.

Most people can't live on that salary in the South East unless you do ridiculous amounts of overtime, making a very physical job even more physical.

You can get easy laid back jobs in a Cafe for that wage and go home without your knees burning or back aching.

They're even advertising by saying it's 10 percent above the market average for the sector. If you're comparing s**t to s**t then even the best s**t, is still s**t.
