Just seen about 10 Amazon vans going down the road in the last 5 minutes!!!

They will never get me to work even 1 Sunday.

The Fourth Commandment in Exodus 20:8-11 (this is numbered as the Third Commandment by Catholics and Lutherans):

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.”

Religion aside (as should be for our modern, sofisticated and oh-so-clever selves) the sabbath is just 'a day off for the wage-slaves of society which was generally seen as a good-thing for productivity and social health & wellbeing.

There are differing Abrahamic interpretations of which day should be the communal sabbath but in fact it is only mentioned as '1 day in 7' (should be a day-off) which leaves us free to choose (since we allegedly have 'Freedom of Conscience) our own sabbath....or none.

The choice is ours alone and individually:

The DPD driver story is very sad but nobody puts a knife to your throat to do that many hrs. Plus side is he wasn't driving up a high street or on the motorway.
