D2D SURPLUS
Been told today that no D2D surplus can be sent back. They must be thrown in to the frame. If it means a customer gets the same D2D twice, then so be it!

Again, not a good look in domestic customers eyes.
This arrant nonsense will only increase the publics' hatred of the bloody things.

Have they maybe thought about just sending in the right number of D2Ds for the walks! Or is that too sensible? The number of letterboxes with no junk mail signs, then we're sticking though 8 different leaflets though each week, not helping with those losses is it RM.

Re: D2D SURPLUS
Probably incorrect info on Route Planner, I'm guessing that the mailing lists for D2D probably run off the same data set.funkflex55 wrote: ↑23 Nov 2022, 10:13Have they maybe thought about just sending in the right number of D2Ds for the walks! We we're told quite a while ago now that any excess D2D returned by a DO to the MC is to be sent straight back to that DO, looks like RM are finally enforcing it

i deliver to a student accommodation, and the reception says they dont want any of them delivered, and to take them down into their carpark and put them in one of the trolley's there. they get picked up every few months by a RM driver and returned to the mail centre. management know all about it.

Been doing this for a while anyway. Just could not stand the argument with the manager anymore. Its normally only a few.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Re: D2D SURPLUS
Unless they officially request that they do want d2ds you have to deliver them RM class them as mail, you only have to piss off a manager who knows about and it's your neck on the linedaveyeff wrote: ↑23 Nov 2022, 19:01i deliver to a student accommodation, and the reception says they dont want any of them delivered, and to take them down into their carpark and put them in one of the trolley's there. they get picked up every few months by a RM driver and returned to the mail centre. management know all about it.

If you have any empty houses on your walk put all the spare in there. Or if a manager lives on your walk even better....

Re: D2D SURPLUS
Most people in my DO haven’t done any D2Ds for months! We send back York’s and York’s of them every week!
We only have an hour on a Monday to prep them and if the frame’s still full of mail from Saturday (or before), as is often the case, they just don’t get done!
They simply get dumped - the customer isn’t informed and Royal Mail, presumably, keep the loot.
