I hazard a guess this is amazon's busiest time of the year and most of them will get the chop on Xmas eve.

As a dirty "new starter" (1.5 years) I get the "privilege" of working 1 in 3 Sundays. It's often very busy, usually each person will take 80-140 packets to an area (I'd say we have about 15 people in, 6 posties and however many casuals they want that week...)
It isn't fair, though. I know a lot of the rurals so I get 100+ packets over an enormous area, where some of the agency get 50 or so for their first few weeks until they're better at it
And due to the USO if something missed a day in the week, then missed Saturday, us RM employees have to take the mail out for that walk (I had to take 2 routes of mail last time I was in) then if you get back "early" you get sent back out with as many packets as a manager deems you capable of in the time you have left (we have to do 6 hours, usually 9-3, if you get back at 2 you're back out with packets)

Sorry if I sound condescending but just play the game. Start on time, take your breaks, finish on time, don’t worry about the workload given to you.

If you do somehow get back early (and this is a conversation I regularly have with management - it can take me 45 minutes to get back, the next day it can take me 10mins, hard to predict traffic) don’t forget before you head out you need a toilet break, you’ll also need to load the van, make sure it’s still roadworthy (best check those tyres again and clean the reg plate), factor all that in and the number of parcels they can send you back out with can suddenly decrease.

We already do work Sunday and nothing will stop them from stopping Sunday delivery I’m afraid as it’s the future and what customers want/ need

Not sure they need half the crap that comes in on a Sunday and most of it is Amazon. They certainly shouldn't be sending you out with loops.

So basically you're doing a full day's work? What do you think the rest of us do Monday to Friday, if we ever get back early we're sent out with lapsing or parcels until our finishing time. I quite enjoyed working Sunday's as there's usually little traffic on the roads and most customers are in for a change.

Last time I had packets I had 139 over about 110 drops, brought back about 25 and got the stink eye from the manager and "don't you WANT overtime? You should have finished that"

I did a few Sundays when I was agency, I would expect it is a lot better organised by now. It was a free for all on who got thier hands on which postcode first with a few posties saying they don't know x area. Fair enough it makes sense that people do what they know. But one week there were 3 of us doing one postcode and done in 2 hours. The next I had two postcodes miles apart and the second covering a huge area, resulting in me getting back to the depo after it had shut.

Christmas Eve is too quiet to keep people on. It was the 23rd when I was there a long time ago.
