Special delivery going to DO on a Sunday?

I have a special delivery before 1pm sent on Friday that has only arrived to Chelmsford mail centre just after midnight on Sunday today.
It says it will now be sent to my local delivery office. Any chance it's being sent during Sunday night to the DO? Or will this be done on Monday night? I know it won't get delivered on a Sunday. I'm asking just if anyway it gets to the DO on a Sunday morning ready for delivery on Monday. Thanks in advance.

It will be processed either on Sunday day if Chelmsford have people working days or Sunday night and will be taken to the Delivery Office on early Monday morning probably around 4 am. The bigger question should be as it was posted Friday why it wasn't processed on either Friday night or Saturday day

I do lots of special deliveries that are taken to Birmingham MC then sent to Chelmsford, which is my local MC, and even last Friday they didn't deliver it on Saturday but I had to wait till Monday. They sent it to Chelmsford that time on Sunday afternoon. Postie then told me my special delivery had been put with tracked post and with the last 2 special delivery items tracking never updated to say item had reached my DO. I still got them delivered but there was never a scan that they were out for delivery.

Christ I thought Greenford MC was a shambles but to send your own Specials 140 miles on a 2 hour plus trip to be processed and then the same journey in reverse for Delivery and then it gets put in with Tracked shows just how broken Royal Mail is as a business in certain places

Sorry, I think I didn't explain myself well... They are sent from Birmingham area to me in Essex. They don't go from Chelmsford to Birmingham then back to Chelmsford!

Therefore anything SD collected on a Friday is scheduled for Monday delivery.

I know about that. Unfortunately there's no option for the Saturday guarantee when buying the postage online.
I've had special deliveries delivered on a Saturday so it's not impossible...

Ever since Tracked and non Tracked large started being put in the same yorks, we now get a right mix of Tracked and non-Tracked, large and small (sometimes the yorks of "large" are virtually all smalls). you're almost certain to find at least a dozen SDs mixed in these days
