He is dressing up as Spiderman to raise money for motor neurone disease (MND) after being inspired by Rob Burrow's story
A Postman from Leeds will be dressing up as Spiderman on his round tomorrow (Saturday, November 19) to raise money for Motor neurone disease (MND).
Gary Prudhoe, 51, from Alwoodley, is raising money for MND with his colleagues by dressing up as Spiderman, the charitable work has been inspired by former Leeds Rhinos player Rob Burrow, who was diagnosed with the disease in 2019.
Rob was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in December 2019 - just two years after ending his playing career by captaining Leeds. His heartbreaking story has helped to raise awareness of the condition.
The north Leeds sorting office will also be hosting a raffle, taking donations from staff who wear a Rugby shirt for the day and a Gary will be taking a collection on his round dressed as 'Spire-Postman'.
Gary has dressed as 'Spider-Postman' in previous years to raise money for Children in Need, he its been "effective" before and hopes he can raise some money again to support MND.

He said: "We're admirers of Rob Burrow and we wanted to do something a bit more for the cause. I've done charity stuff before so we thought lets see how it goes down. If anyone wants to donate, we will take a collection as we go round, then it goes into the collection at work."
Gary added: "We're hoping people will come out and support us, we have all been moved by Rob Burrow and his family, I have read his book and I'm a big admirer of him, so it would be nice to give something back to him and make people aware of the cause.
