Try to rise above it. Its not worth a suspension.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Honestly. Get a life. They're not a murderer or child molester. They just either don't agree with striking or absolutely need the money. How do you feel will strike supporters who do overtime and work their days off. Exactly the same principle. You'd have no body to speak to at our office.

And if they pay union subs, they have a right to be represented, striker or non striker.woody38 wrote: ↑18 Nov 2022, 17:27It does get u down when people come in when where on strike, let’s see who got the balls now it’s getting complicated, if people want to come into work that’s up to them, I speak to them if they speak to me, but don’t go out of the way to speak to them, the person who started the thread just be careful I was reported a few years ago by a scapp. What does get me down is when all this is over these people who come in will expect the union reps to back them up when things go wrong, seen It so many times.

No, not a manager. I’ve been out on strike as many days as anyone during this action.
I’m fortunate enough to be able to take a chance on achieving something worthwhile even though my expectations are very low.
Because I can afford to strike I don’t have to risk being ignored and verbally abused. But I also remember times that I wouldn’t of been able to afford it and can understand the stresses that some members are facing.

Re: In a van share with a strike breaker !!
As far as strike breakers are concerned, I'm not exactly going to be this petty and refuse to work with them. I've got no idea what their financial situations are and neither do you, especially in these times. The union isn't exactly free from criticism neither. Posting pics with "Simon out" on workplace and videos of posties singing kumbaya isn't exactly working. It's all too damn petty and like I've went back in time to high school! They got duped by ST when they were thinking talks were going well, only for members to literally go next day on how managers were forcing in their changes. And the CWU STILL went in there after ST literally said he wasn't going to go any higher. Then, you got postman bitching and moaning about strike breakers on the picket line, only to mop up the workload the next day on overtime and coming in early like always. I mean, I've done none of it since it all started but know people are worst off than me and have kids to feed. So, again not gonna begrudge them for making a living the way things are now.

There's postmen in my office going on strike then the next day work their day off and do a collection duty on overtime. So how can they condemn anyone who doesn't strike? It's wrong what Royal Mail are trying to do, but there alot of selfish postman who would never lift a finger to help anybody else. No one has the right to tell anyone what they should do, everybody has different circumstances.

Here here. Really don't understand striking posties saying they're working their days off and overtime to 'build a strike fund' . So hypocritical. Do they really not get it?Kesknight wrote: ↑19 Nov 2022, 18:39There's postmen in my office going on strike then the next day work their day off and do a collection duty on overtime. I haven't crossed a picket line, yet.
But honestly, it wouldn't bother me if I decided I couldn't support the strike action.
Half the folk on my picket line, have voted Tory for years, and can't seem to understand why their strikes aren't working.
You couldn't make it up.

How they vote in a GE affects the effectiveness of the strike?
You decide whether or not to support strike action? So much for the concept of workers' solidarity.
Strange logic on show.

Very sadly, when Thompson and his cronies are doing their daily troll of this forum under fake names both he and they will be delighted at the divide and conquer they've created amongst the workforce, and it will only strengthen their resolve to carry on their carnage even further.
Obviously, although only a very small %age post on here, the intent dislike - sometimes hate - of colleagues is clear, just because they have a different opinion, and gives the board a good insight into the bigger picture amongst the workforce from a remote position.
Someone refusing to work on a partnership just because one striked and the other didn't is childish and petty in the extreme. When Thompson sees that his response will be

Given our sizeable political donation to the Labour Party, they have been shamefully posted missing over the last decade when it has come to backing postal workers and getting the public to wise up to the many legislative anti-trade union measures pushed forward by the government.
