Amazon prime - special delivery's

The people that order stuff with Amazon prime are just lying bf for next day delivery not before 1pm. Why can’t Royal Mail allow us to deliver these later in the day? Lie during lockdown we could do SDs up till 1600.

It’s really annoying on a large rural where you have miles and miles to drive, getting 5 specials all being Amazon prime parcels but all spread out across the delivery. With a 1600 finish time on Wednesday and Thursday it’s a real annoyance and waste of diesel and time driving about doing them then having to go back there later.

Why can't somebody at RM have a word with Amazon and just advise them to send them Tracked 24 rather than SD?

I heard Amazon SD was purely for "strike avoidance" for customers who wanted to ensure they got thier parcel next day during industrial action.

It' probably be dropped and go back to Tracked 24 or delivered 24 once the dispute is settled.

They should move SD’s to next day delivery and not be time sensitive, but that would help us so they won’t. Quite simply, I would organise my day on the basis of doing what I can do during the time allocated then cut off- always taking an amount out that you can do without rushing. Enjoy the driving around, it beats walking!

On heavy days I just drive round and do all my specials first , then go back and start my route from my usual spot , it saves the stress of constantly watching the clock . If it means me cutting off on my duty , so be it , Royal Mail want us to prioritise specials, tracked and collections , so that’s what I do.

Give the managers the problem two options explain that you can't fit in the furthest away in time or tell him you will to break off because of the time it will take to deliver this meaning that you will bring mail and the all important tracked

I couldn’t careless about wasting time or fuel , this is a bonkers company that doesn’t have a clue so I just do as instructed.

Who cares? Cut off and get the 1 pm specials done. Do what you are told and go home. It’s so easy. Switch off at home and don’t think about it. Don’t come on here either. I’m on here now as it’s my meal break and I’m at work.

I don't bother trying to get these done before 1. The round is too spread out and on some days 1pm is our finish time so if I'm getting there after they should just be glad it got delivered at all.

How do you cut off.at our office we are told if you take it out you have to deliver it,many of us going over our time because of lapsing ,if you say you are dropping you spend 20 mins arguing with your manager getting stressed.

You cut off by telling your manager that you will not be working past your time, if they want you to prioritise tracked etc that's up to them. So you either bring some mail back or leave some in your fitting, assuming you have a fitting and not a bench
