P739 for Tracked retured to DO

Post by kazardaimenu »

Is it time to move away from carding Tracked items taken back to the depot? These offer text updates and so much done via pda now plus all importantly other couriers don't often leave cards (just text/online updates) and we know how much RM look up to the competition. Might save a bit of time on delivery and as a result we will probably see even more door to doors.

Give the option when tracking comes through, if no response still card it

I haven’t written a card out for a tracked parcel for over two years. Multiple walks. No complaints.

I thought the new procedure was going to be - if you can't deliver a Tracked item you don't card it, you take it out again the next day.

Why not have a note/warning on the PDA to leave 739 if the customer can't receive email/text updates?

And how are RM going to collect and store all that data and keep it up to date?

Are you saying you get rid of every tracked item, or you are just too lazy to leave a P739?
How does the customer collect the item from the CSP without a red card?

Just get the information direct from the business customer, surely it can't be that difficult for them to supply Y/N?

Some people still use landlines as contact numbers. Others dont have emails linked to their phones.

Yes most people do.

Plus the time it takes to write P739 card is abt the right amount of time to wait.

They won't be able to do that for much longer.

Landlines won't be going away with the change over to VoIP

Yep, I’m too lazy to write out twenty plus cards a day because customers can’t use the app/website. & in what world do you need a card to get your parcel from the CSP? Postcode/address/tracking number & ID is all i’ve ever needed. Any other questions, hero?

I wonder what the percentage of people collecting with the card vs. clicking on the link or showing the not delivered message at the CCP vs. having it redelived (via the internet) is.
Physically writing a card out is nuts when you think about the waste.
Yes you have to think about people with no Internet access etc., but they must be very few and far between.
And the majority of those would likely just get a relative to do it for them.
Surely it costs a lot of time and money that could be saved with some lateral thinking.

Yes, how many parcels get rts because the customer doesn’t even know they’ve got a packet?
If you don’t want to do the job why don’t you leave?
Loser.
