Prohibited items I. Specail delivery

Post by Wullie10 »

If you take an item to post office they ask what's inside but we haven't been trained what is prohibited.

Pretty sure they make the declaration that nothing inside is prohibited at the point of paying for the postage and booking the collection.

Slight change of subject but when we return to the office we place all undelivered items in a York left near the managers office and any collected items in another. Not exactly special delivery is it?

Likely to be in a smaller office when the only people likely to be in or set foot in the office after 1pm are the returning posties.
Scan it in as Not Delivered/No Answer, write it down on the form (if there is one), stick it in the perstop or York as above
and Bob's your uncle, that's the SOP, 'That's the way we've always done it'.

No such thing as a Specials Locker or CSP, just a corner part of the office that's got office partition walls to it to segregate it from
the hoi-polloi, but the door is non-existent.

Marie Celeste is stating it mildly in some offices I've returned to after 1pm.

Seems crazy that every MC has a secure room as a SD locker, with access restricted (basically only those whose duties are in the locker or cover locker duties) yet there's no security for SD items in DOs

Careful with that. I think that technically you can face disciplinary action/be dismissed for taking photos in the workplace if anyone finds out or, mainly, wants to be an arsehole.
