seems a recurring theme here, hrs to be saved equals the amount of vacancies. Can't see anybody getting out with a Brucie bonus at this rate!

Because they say they they are over staffed ie you don't have enough work to do for the hours they allotted for the function of work or the model that says we will have a 15% reduction in work! While some sit in Ivory towers suping PIM'S how nice and cannot attend meetings the next day!

Ah, so your theory includes getting rid of 10000 staff too. You didn't say that. You just said drop our hrs and pay us the same, which would not save any money at all because we all know we aren't finished 30 mins early every day, least not at our office.

Efficiency savings they say you have 15% less work than last year 15% so you can do more work never said 10000 staff that is their own estimate and yours. The less hours we all perform will reduce the people who leave the business at the end of the day would you prefer a 43 hour working week or a 37 hour working week? The choice is yours!

Working less hrs for the same pay isn't actually going to see more money in your bank though is it? (Aka a pay rise). Yeah the hr rate will go up but they're going to clamp down on overtime. Plus, we can't complete on time on 37 hrs now!

do you have a manager tell him/her i will not get the job done in time all good. What happens when you have 15% less work as the employer says you have do you go begging for work or will you be made surplus to requirements?

But what these pratts dont realise is less staff, Less sorting ,Less IPS so get out the office later
So with 15% less mail and out 15% later due to less sorters you get 15% less time to deliver it hence same finish time

👍true

Also don’t know about your office but at ours every round I get put on has a new housing estate added to it (or 2 estates on 2 of the rounds I do)

Then on top of that they’ve increased the flex/lapsing

We haven’t been on strike this week so shouldn’t have a backlog but we still have to stream the mail to stand a chance of finishing on time

Plus parcels take longer to deliver than mail and parcel volumes have gone up faster than mail volumes have decreased

Add to all that the extra traffic from the school run that we’ll get caught up in if they make our start times later

🤔 I’m not convinced that whoever devised these cost saving plans are living in the real world
