I used to do the same, and got the same reaction, why think someone's going to work those 10-15 minutes if you're docking their pay?

In theory you shouldn't be on the premises unless you're clocked in, and in places I've worked you can't get on the premises anyway without going through the clock station.
Sitting in the canteen doing nothing when you're already late to start work seems a guaranteed way to get on the wrong side of management. Not a great way to have a good working relationship with the boss.

Well in our mc once you get through turnstile after scanning your pass its a 5 min walk to clock in so how do you not be on the premises.

You're right Tman .... and I never did have a Good Working relationship with him

Right up to the time I took him to HR and got him transferred sideways into a dead end department due to his discriminatory actions.

It was a good life lesson in dealing with Passive/Aggressive, Control Freaks who like to Micro Manage everyone. Good Experience for working in Royal mail.

SISO On Delivery goes live nationally today!!

For Attention of all COMs in Delivery Units:
is now live in your office and the use paper signing on sheets should now be discontinued as all staff shall now be using the SISO PDA or App to record their start and finish times.

Please ensure:
·All paper signing on sheets have been removed
·All staff are aware of the new process and they should be “clocking in and out” using the SISO technology
·That you can see live scans in the Live Scan and Plan v Scan reports for your COM area(s)
·You maintain the Attendance Schedule system regularly and reflects your current workplan

We were told the two systems would be running in parallel

SISO was not being used for payroll (we presumed it was just data farming for when RM wanted to "Flick the Switch" and shaft us for Annalised Hours)

I look forward to when the Tech fails .... like it always does ...... and everyone's wages are screwd up! NOT!!

Strange day today getting back and the office is full of staff doing house holds and hanging around.

Staff members coming in near start time.

One person came in hour early before clocking in said he had a special arrangment now comes in on time, as he doesnt want to get sent back out. lol

Quite amusing seeing some faces that you have never seen at 3 pm . Personally I think that they have enjoyed a good ride for many years.Nothing to hide here by the way!.Although I have no problem with this part of the process I do wonder what the future holds with regards to annualised hours.

I and a few others come in earlier than most and Manager can manually input this.

having a easy round or cutting corners and finshing 1-2 hours early a day was probably the last perk in the job. i know it was always going to catch up to you in the end like living unhealthly. Surpised clocking in system didnt come in 10 years ago.

Personally i will probably look for a monday- friday job.

In my office all the staff are now waiting until their actual finishing before scanning out and going after queuing up. Is this happening in all offices? As I thought for now it was not going to be used for pay. I still haven't received an ID badge after nearly 11 months in the company.

last 2 days manager said you can go 20 minutes before your end time, so strange getting back to the office and its full of posties standing around or doing door to doors. then all leaving at once, like working in a warehouse.

Not pay , for now at least, but if people are scanning out 20 to 30 mins on a regular basis your manager can see who needs a bit of extra work

As a reserve I generally get moved from day to day to the walks that haven't been out for a day or 3. So I definitely don't need anymore work! Cannot remember the last day I went in and did just 1 days worth of mail and packets.

According to our book room and union rep (and I'm aware all depots run differently, and our COM tells us the following isn't true....)

If you agree to take out some loops or packets for overtime, if you're offered (for example) 2 hours to do that, you HAVE to scan out 2 hours after your time or you'll only be paid to the minute that you clocked out. Same goes for working your rest day, you'll be paid for the exact minutes you work rather than automatically getting a full day.

Conversely, if you go over and clock out late you still have to go in and book that time like you used to, as the system won't add, only take away.
