Resign now want to come back to RM

Presuming this is a serious question....

Lad in our place left a little while back for a job in his old business. It didn't pan out for him and he's come back through the agency route. He's a good, popular lad and management have agreed to reinstate him as a member of staff as soon as they can once the dust has settled in this current climate.

Nobody has mentioned any other time restrictions to this, but that isn't to say there aren't any...just that I'm not aware of any and my managers are even more useless than I am

I left the business in March 2021 (via VR), but before I left, I checked with HR whether there was a time limit to when I could apply for jobs in RM.I was told that unless there was a clause in contract (which there wasn’t) prohibiting me from rejoining RM, that I was free to apply for a job at any time.I applied for Xmas work via Angard at the local MC and was accepted with no problem.
Re: Processing jobs . I asked for colleagues still in delivery about positions in the MC and was told they went to OPG’s who were unable to still work in delivery, but were unwilling to take IHR. I witnessed this in the MC with the last 4 jobs going to OPG’s from delivery.
