RMCtv : Changes to uniform rollout : postponed until the new financial year

Team - not what we wanted to do - not what I wanted to do - but we have no choice…..
Changes to uniform rollout

We started rolling out the new Royal Mail uniform in March 2022 as part of a four-wave rollout plan which was due to be completed in July 2023 for all front-line colleagues. The third wave, which was the largest to over 55,000 employees, was due to start in October.

Unfortunately, in light of Friday’s financial announcement, this third wave has had to be postponed until the new financial year, when we will review our position in April 2023.

We will continue to provide uniforms to all new starters and PPE to all employees. These can be ordered through the normal BAU process via the uniform ordering portal, Detail.

Please continue to use your existing uniform. However, if you have an exceptional uniform requirement, please speak to your line manager who will email uniform@royalmail.com with your request.

All requests must be submitted by a line manager and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Dimensions, our uniform supplier, is developing the ordering portal which will include an automated one for one and exemptions process. More details will be shared on this in the coming weeks.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Simon Thompson can you answer as to why the ‘postie’ on Eastenders has it?

Why spend all that money on uniform with 'Royal Mail' written on it when you could have 'Vesa' written on it in the new year. Is that the real reason you don't want to roll out the new uniform, Simon?

I’m abit sceptical about this. Everyone was required to order ages and ages ago. They must have gone to the manufacturer when all the orders were in and said we require 100k of these, 200k of that etc so what is the best price. I would bet there’s been a cock up somewhere. Be nice if the CWU gave a statement on this. My kit is knackered although I understand the new stuff is not great.

here's something about Simon I haven't seen discussed before..

..how come in that B&W picture of Simon he looks like one of them Stormtroopers from the new star wars sequels?

is it intentional?

nobody really liked the new stormtroopers.

and nobody really likes simon.

if it's intentional, kudos.

after many attempts to order shirts and shorts from Royal Mail as I have worn through shorts and pockets and had shirts ripped by rose bushes etc.
Can I buy my own and contracharge Royal Mail ?
