Long Term Sickness

I have been on Sick leave since late Jan 2022, mainly due to Work Related Stress , l have received my Full Wage for 28wks & since then 1/2 pay for approx 10wks. Today 21/10/22 my pay slip is a Zero (No pay) Is this RM normal sick procedure/ policy

As far as I know sick pay lasts for 6 months full pay and 6 months 1/2 pay.
However I think it is spread over the previous 3 years.
I would have thought that SSP would have kicked as soon the time was up.
I may be wrong, I'm sure that someone will correct me if I am.

Your SSP will have been paid in the first six months of sick pay. You should have had a letter from HR explaining this when your full pay was coming to an end. The letter includes details of who to contact to receive help with benefits to make up your pay. I got 6 months full pay which included SSP to make it up although I wasn't aware that ssp was being used. 3 months half pay then Sick pay at pensionable rate. I Claimed contribution rate employment support allowance.

Blimey, what kind of job do you have that is so stressful and demanding that you need to take approaching a full year off work due to the stress it causes you?

Surely the answer is to get the union on to it?

Don't wish to sound harsh but surely just going off on long term sick is just running away from the problem rather than getting it dealt with so yourself and others don't have to continue being subjected to it?

That does sound a bit harsh, everyone is different and it can be hard to stand up to bullys. But surely the union should be involved? Are others being bullied? I find this the least stressful job I've ever done. If I can't complete, I bring it back and go home.
We have people who will do all the overtime so we usually clear every day which means the manager is happy.

I agree everyone is different but the OP doesn't necessarily have to directly and singlehandedly stand up to the bully by getting the union involved.

Personally I'd find the uncertainty and anxiety of being off on the sick for 10 months just as stressful, what with having to deal the frequent ''welfare calls'' from managers, HR and Occupational Health and having to repeatedly visit my GP and convince them that I'm still supposedly so stressed to be incapable of working.

I'm in the same position as op, while everyone else being bullied will roll over and have their bellies tickled I won't. They can pay me 6 months full pay and 6 months half pay. Then I will go.
