It's April 1st everyday in royail mail.

Self employed will pick up their workload from Royal Mail and just prep in their van.

What happens when due to staff shortages and walks that are too long. The walks are taken out alternately, do you have to carry a pile of mech in each hand whilst balancing a parcel on your head and your PDA up your arse?! Or is that an option if we want to?

First issue I see (of many) is that for this to work. The mech/sequenced mail would actually have to arrive nearly 100% sequenced correctly.
I'm constantly pulling out stuff for other walks, or even other offices.
And *if* the long term idea, as suggested by others earlier in this thread, is for it to be dropped off at houses for sorting by individuals at home...wel they better start putting the right bloody labels on the tray. Annoying enough doing a tour of the office trying to find your mail, I'm not prepared to trek all around town to try and find in

This is what I came to say, all the mech for the past month seems to have missorts and sudden leaps in the order for maybe 10 letters before going back to where it should be (2,4,6,8,20,22,24,26,10,12,14, etc) then a few randoms for other walks tucked in.

Some of our guys have been asked to trial this today. Essentially you get your mech mail and the sort your manual into it without a frame. Literally flick through and put your flats and manual in and then tie up totally without using a frame. Anyone else had this?

We have the headquarters of a huge multinational business here, who put their return address on the front of the letter in the corner so the machine reads the return address. End result: when they send a mass mailing out you end up with hundreds of letters for all over the country in your mech.

How many of them are redirections? The CSS machines will read the original address from the orange barcode. Some of the issues might be where the walaks have changed, (new builds added, DPs moved between walks, DPs mooved in order or loops, etc) and Route Planner (formally known as A+) hasn't been updated with the new walks. The data on Route Planner is what is used when the sequencing sort plans are written

I knew you’d be here to defend the ridiculous processing.

Why do you always jump to human error at DOs being the root cause in terms of RP and A+ yet can’t fathom that your colleagues in mail centres consistently send the mail to DOs in a frankly appalling state.

It’s not the Route Planner Champions fault that the mech comes down with every label wrong is it?!

It’s not the A+ not being updated that has led to hundreds of items in a mech tray being sent upside down either surely?
