After 6 years and with the changes that will take place
I am thinking to leave royal mail
How many weeks notice do I have to give
And what is happening with my annual leave days I didn't took
And last do I have to do something with my pension savings

You are entitled to the holidays you've earned for the time you've worked in the current tax year, April to April. You will get paid your excess if not taken as holiday in your last month of working, you have to give 4 weeks notice.

I think you earn about 1.5 days holiday per month worked, probably a tad more, 1.6/1.7. Bank holidays are exclusive to this, so don't count them. So up until now you've probably earned 10 days.

Your pension will stay with the current provider, Scottish Widows(?), until your retirement age. They will continue to invest it. You will get a letter from them when you leave. You can move pensions to different providers however.

Your notice period depends on your contract, mine is 1 week.

Can't remember if it was April 2017 or 2018 that the notice period changed for one week to four weeks.

But being in for six years, your notice period should be one week. And that week can include leave.

Technically RM could sue the person for breach contract. RM could be entitled to payment for the number of days notice that they failed to give, so if they should give four weeks notice RM could sue them for 20 days pay.

Probably won't happen but, with RM's attitude now, nothing would surprise me.

Yeah, this is true, rarely happens though.

I've never worked a day's notice in my life. Once I've had enough of a job I just walk out and don't return.

There are so many ways to f**k with an employer when you no longer want to be there, that most are just happy to avoid that sort of issue.

I left earlier this year with a few days leave outstanding. I agreed to effectively give 10 days notice as the leave was tagged on to the end so that I actually worked 5 days and had my final 3 as leave. I could have worked 2 days and taken 3 as leave - so I could have left 2 days after I gave my notice in. I would expect lieu days to work the same.
