Leaving a sinking ship

We have 3 people leaving on Friday . 2 have over 30 years experience between them . They are only leaving because of the way the job is going .
talking to colleagues in the office ,they have had enough and are starting to relize there are plenty of jobs out there and it has given them confidence to start looking. Mornings are a nightmare now as we have had 5 full timers go in the last 6 months soon to be 8 they are being replaced with temps when they can get them . we are massively short of people to prep rounds in the mornings and deliveriesare not going out . We nearly have more temps than full time / pt time .
People can't take much more lots of arguments etc and it's made the office unbearable in the mornings .

I’ve been here 6 years and I’ve recently started applying for jobs. Parts of the job I love, but it’s just not worth the stress, feeling constantly knackered, back stabbing colleagues and poor management. Like you said people are starting to realise there are much less stressful jobs out there for similar pay

I left 9 months ago for similar reasons.

After our last revision it was clear the way things were heading. Tensions boiling over and constant pressure.

I still miss the job, the banter and getting paid to keep fit but am glad I got out when I did. I am back in office work again although work from home most of the time now so it's a bit different (no lapsing, every weekend off, finish on time )

Anyone who cannot see the writing on the wall now defies comprehension.

There are PLENTY of jobs out there, with no stress/Mon-Fri/comparable amounts of pay/treated like a human being instead of a robot, etc.

These will be getting snapped up by those who can see that writing on the wall.

Those who are not bothering - you're the ones being left behind to carry on with the mess.

This is my last week, I start a new job on monday. I have done just under 4 years.

This week has been great so far, no stress and working at a leisurely pace in the warm sun.

I only applied for 1 job and i managed to get it. It will be strange going to work and not having to argue about doing 8 hours work in 6 hours.

It's a driving job, i will be the courier for the company I'm going to. Mon - Fri and more money but more hours too, only 7 more a week tho

good topic. Most of us have been here many years and are married to the job so find it difficult to do something, i personally want to move next year to a cheaper property up north and get a monday- friday job and have weekends to myself.

I know a few who have done just that. Money in the bank and free weekends. What’s not to like.

South more of a rip off if you are single. one bed flat need 230k plus for a dump. go to chesire 180k-240k can get a 3 bed detacted with a decent garden.

I left nearly 2 years ago after 17 years, could see things were only getting worse then. Best decision I ever made, the company I work for now are going down to a 4 day week next year. No stress in the mornings, no working weekends and no idiot doms trying to manipulate you.

Me too, left last year after just over 25 years, best decision by a country mile. No stress, a company who treats every employee as a person, everyone gets on with each other, no weekends......I HAVE A LIFE NOW!

Left on Friday after 26+ years, sad to go, now working Mon-Fri, a couple more hours a week but a bit more cash, most who've left our office in the last year ( 15 )say its the best thing they did.
