No frame walk preperation

Post by Spinks182 »

Some of our guys have been asked to trial this today. Essentially you get your mech mail and the sort your manual into it without a frame. Literally flick through and put your flats and manual in and then tie up totally without using a frame. Anyone else had this?

The ones trialling this must be the same ones who come in 2 hours early for free.

A few people were asked and most said no. I think the couple of people that agreed to it just saw it as an excuse to do very little work as its clearly a mental idea. Personally, i just can't work out why anyone has come up with it! It makes no sense!

What cocking spanner came up with that Knob of an idea? Mind you if RM got rid of all the frames they could merge half a dozen offices into 1, money to be saved :Very Happy

Makes sense cos then they don’t need the space. You can prep it at home in your garage along with all the packets once you get the van out of the way, oh and by the way you’re now self employed 👍

To the business paying for a machine to sequence the mail into a tray only for a postie to pull it all out, put it into a frame and then pull it all back out in exactly the same order makes no sense.
This has been trialled before but using a frame to prep the unsequenced work.
I don't see how it could work without putting the unsequenced into some order before attempting to merge it with the mech.

It isn't a completely daft idea but it does seem to be a bit too difficult for most people.

What the business wants is a much smaller footprint for each frame to allow for more merging of units.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Wouldn't work in ours anyway because the mech is all over the place! They've a cheek to call it mech.

How on earth will this work if you're unfamiliar with a walk? Just lots and lots of leafing through?
I suppose they could give you a 'mini frame label' so you could see how the streets run.
But it's probably one of the daftest ideas of the decade. And in fairness, that's a very high bar.

Wasn't this wheeled out a few years back as "bench merging"?

Went down like the Titanic.
