See my post above yours.

" I know 99% of people working in Royal Mail are honest" - it is more than 99% actually. But you chose to base your thread title on what you say is 1% of the workforce.

To answer your question and it is only based on experience of working "outdoors" rather than "indoors" in terms of using the PDA. If delivered items for another delivery office but using one of my office's PDAs, the scan would show that the item was delivered by my office. It is vaguely possible that something like that has happened.

But if the scans are showing that, contact Customer Services and they should be able to check the individual who was logged into the PDA for the scans.
It may well be more than 99% but you know what I meant. I have done they are investigating but thanks👍

As a former postie on behalf of the massive majority of posties who aren't thieves I hope that you get the correct outcome. And should it be found that someone has stolen the items, or any items, I hope that they get the correct outcome as well. No one hates a thieving postie more than the massive majority of honest posties.

I will leave this thread up as a salutary lesson to customers. If you want to get advice on an unofficial forum try to frame your question to not sound accusatory.

Certainly calling colleagues thieves, even when you say the vast majority are honest, meant fewer people were willing to engage with the poster. If the poster had entitled the thread differently they may have gotten more engagement. Perhaps a better title drawing attention to the two scans geographically wide part but close in time would have received more comments and insights. But this customer doubled down on the accusation and the thread went off track.

If you want help please get to the meat of the matter and if you really suspect theft, don't post on here go to the police.
