Don't quote me on this because I'm only getting this second hand but one of my work mates has just texted me to say the takeover by Faisal is going ahead . Has anybody else heard this same news ?
Faisal Islam?
Do you mean VESA?
Ah, my bad . apologies. Sorry , I misheard their name .
I think Thompson and Royal Mail had a plan from the start to absorb all the worse scenarios that the union could throw at them. Ward has announced rolling strikes in November, the build up to Christmas including black Friday and the Monday to no effect. So what’s left all out in December ? The s**t could hit the fan but it would be a massive hit on wages for posties in these already hard times .
What concerns me is this feels familiar to when we were privatised . Get the Labour Party , TUC and public opinion behind us and look what happened , we got privatised .Saying that I will never give up fighting and standing behind our union .

You might not think there is an effect but there is . Being on strike Black Friday and Cyber Monday is a major blow to the company . Don't worry , they are feeling it . They will feel it even more if we're still striking coming up to Christmas .

But will us CWU members also be “feeling it”.
Royal Mail have the perfect get out of jail card.
Blame the strikes and the union.
I have been on many strikes/disputes over the years since I started in 1986.
But this is by far the most worrying.
