Leaflets for picket line

Post by redpouch1 »

Does anyone know if CWU are planning to produce some leaflets giving details of the issues in the second ballot i.e change proposals that we can hand out to the public at the picket line? So far we have only been given leaflets by CWU to hand out that deal with the cost of living no strings pay rise/ first ballot to hand to passers by. Are the leaflets likely to be updated to include all the issues in pay dispute or are the ones we already have sufficient information for the public?

The cwu need to push the T&C in tv radio interviews
More public will support us if they knew about forced Sundays and especially later starts & finishes make sure they know they could get their mail/parcels 2-3 hours later

I’m finding that when I tell them about change proposals it wins them over bit more. They initially think it’s just about the money. Perhaps the CWU should put out some new leaflets that explain the other issues involved in the dispute besides money.

The public are not interested in our t&cs , they are not even aware that we are on strike most of the time .Forget about public opinion, times have changed , the CWU need to unveil their plan to bring this to an end or we might as well all go back to work.

True, the idea that "the public" have sympathy (or more likely, even GAF) for us is a nonsense.

Leaflets?
The one banner that we have was paid for by an ex colleague.

In my experience, people are very supportive, even more so if they`re engaged with, especially if they understand that our proposed Ts&Cs effect their deliveries.
