Its also important for you to know that the strike breakers feel the same about people that strike, they are ready to accept the new terms as long as they get paid and there is a job to continue with. The strikers are putting the future of the company at risk, when really, if they dont like the new terms, they should jump ship to a compay that has terms they do like.
For example if Tesco put their cornflakes up to £100 per pack would you complain ,try to break them or pop down to Asda and buy them at £2 per pack instead?
Firstly, if it is sooo easy to go and get another job why are you so worried?
Secondly, the comparison is pathetic and serves no one.
Thirdly, actually all 5 strikebreakers I know personally, do not accept the new terms, not one of them, they just want the money in the short term claiming they need it.
Fourthly, the CEO is putting the company at risk and accepting his terms is only going to help him strip it.
And last but not least, you are a coward. I'd still work with you and treat you perfectly well. But I'd struggle to find an ounce of respect for you. If everyone was like you we'd have no rights at all, we'd still be living in the dark ages. History is made of defining moments when people stood up for their rights; the civil rights movement, ww2, women's rights, and the The General Strike (1842) to name just a few. I suppose you'd prefer these people stayed in their place. You should be ashamed.
Worried. I actually the job and see no harm in the changes going forward, every company has to adapt to survive and we all have to do things wed rather not to keep the money rolling in.
Not sure why you think im a coward, I know my views arent popular with the miliant die hard old school Royal mail staff who havent ever had a job in the real private sector before, yet I still put my view point across and take all the abuse and monitoring of my posts in my stride. Let's just hope you walk quick enough and reach their high speed accurucy and productivity standards when they start monitoring you PDAs in line with disciplinary actions.
Or you don't for some reason trigger two absences and have to live on statutory sick pay for a period of time. Which will make these current like pay payackets look like healthy amounts of dough...

iirc RM are planning on having both stage 1s and stage 2s to be automatically issued with no ability to appeal them and sickpay won't kick in for the first week

Good post. I'm currently on holiday in Keswick, I'm ex RM with over 40 years in. I saw one of your colleagues, emptying the main post office in town. When I asked him why he was working on strike day, the response was sickeningly predictable, 'can't afford'.

Do not name-call anyone on here because when you do, whether you support the strikes or not, working or not, every time you abuse someone on here or even just comment about non-RMC members, YOU are putting your employment in jeopardy.

There will also be some that might be falling into debt because Royal Mail won't improve their part-time contracts and increase their living wage on a permanent basis.
If they're getting the work covered on OT, then they're not gong to increase the hours of any PT contracts or make any PT up to FT
Aye, its a shame the overtime rate isn't substantially more than the basic rate as that might encourage Royal Mail to get them on full-time contracts. Especially as some of our part-timers have been doing full-time work on overtime for years
