Find it strange 2yearpostie you were upset during covid times about 8pm finishes, now you welcome them? Maybe you're used to them now

8pm finishes arent going to happen, thats all scare stories. Even if full timers started at 10am your gonna be finished by 530 if you move your legs and stop dawdling. The 10am start is for really for pt staff so they will be finshed by 4pm. Whats the problem?

It could very well be the case that mail won't arrive at a delivery office in time for a full timer starting at 10am..... And consider that LAT shifts are usually 3pm to 7pm. Once they get added onto someones shift (rather than being done as overtime), someone could easily be out delivering until 7pm+2yearpostie wrote: ↑02 Oct 2022, 15:398pm finishes arent going to happen, thats all scare stories. And for those posties who took the job due to being able to finish to pick up the kids from the school run?

Worried. I actually the job and see no harm in the changes going forward, every company has to adapt to survive and we all have to do things wed rather not to keep the money rolling in.
Not sure why you think im a coward, I know my views arent popular with the miliant die hard old school Royal mail staff who havent ever had a job in the real private sector before, yet I still put my view point across and take all the abuse and monitoring of my posts in my stride. Would any of you be brave enough to say you dont agree with the mob?
So you welcome the potential loss in sick pay, the potential loss of Ill Health Retirement benefits? You'd welcome Annualised hours? You'd be happy with "Commit to Deliver" where it means you have no finish time, just stay out until you have delivered everything (how is that going to affect our colleagues with child care issues, who took the job on due to finishing in time for the school run)? Loss of supplements (e.g. Delivery Supplement). All this so a CEO can boost his pay packet and give hundreds of millions of pounds to his share holder buddies, while saying "there is no money for you plebs, no new uniform either"?![]()
We already do commit to deliver in my office. If someone really needs to be somewhere at finish time then we divide the work between us and get it done, or we are proactive and come in earlier and claim the overtime before we go out not after.
The delivery supp isnt going, its things like the post bus allowance which should go as we dont have them anymore.

I wouldn't abuse any of them if they chose to cross the picket line.
They have kids to feed and a roof to put over their heads.
We're not talking about those colleagues who are Genuinely struggling, we're talking about "The Usual Suspects" whose motto is "I'm Alright Jack FCUK You". The ones that please themselvess, and work the way they want everyday of the year!

The question then really is who are you to sit in judgement?[/color]
You edited the quote Clash! I think anyone that read the underlined section of the quote would recognise who "The Usual Suspects" are? Every DO has got them! They are not:
"The part timers who are having a really hard time at the moment ... who have kids to feed and a roof to put over their heads." I would consider that they are Genuinely Struggling.
The "Usual Suspects" are the same Selfish Bastards that I've been working next to for the last 20 years .... Who have NEVER been out on Strike .... Who are the BIGGEST Whingers in the Office .... Who ALWAYS finish an hour plus early EVERY Day.
I think most of us are well aware of the circumstances of the majority of our colleagues, especially in Small -Medium sized DOs. Perhaps not so much in the Bigger DOs. Hand on Heart I can assure you these guyss don't "NEED" the extra cash ... they just "WANT" it .... and at the same time my Part Time colleagues, who are also struggling financially, are backing the Strike. Hats off to them!
Like all Wage Slaves, he had two crosses to bear: The people he worked for and the people he worked with! (Stephen Vizinczey.)

Re: Just remember Guys...
Correct. In the leaked document showing new office start times there’s a depot in Scotland with a start time of 11am. Assuming they ‘get their skates on’ indoors and head out at 1pm, they are still looking at 6pm on a good day. Bring in commit to deliver and that could easily be a 8pm finish.greengiant wrote: ↑02 Oct 2022, 16:41It could very well be the case that mail won't arrive at a delivery office in time for a full timer starting at 10am..... Anyway I think most of us know 2inch is just trolling, I find it frustrating his ridiculous posts are being approved again.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Re: Just remember Guys...
If you aren't trolling, then why use phrases like "miliant die hard old school Royal mail staff" or "The strikers are putting the future of the company at risk, when really, if they dont like the new terms, they should jump ship to a compay that has terms they do like.", or when referring to sick pay " and seeing how its abused as 'free holiday'"2yearpostie wrote: ↑02 Oct 2022, 18:00
Not to take the thread off topic, but why is a different view classed as trolling?
So tell me 2yearpostie, why should we agree to our terms and conditions being eroded downwards (to the likes of Evri / DPD / Yodel with their zero hour contract workers, who use their own cars to deliver) just so our CEO and his shareholder buddies can cream hundreds of millions of pounds in bonuses? Because if we don't stand up, that is what will happen in Royal Mail. A race to the bottom.

Maybe the rest of us can keep fighting to protect the terms and conditions for us and future generations and 2year could go and work for Amazon. Their contracts are terrible, he'd love it there!!

Let’s be honest here. You aren’t worried about the race to the bottom for posties on the street. You are worried about CSP’s closing down, as you are unable to do deliveries.greengiant wrote: ↑02 Oct 2022, 19:13If you aren't trolling, then why use phrases like "miliant die hard old school Royal mail staff" or "The strikers are putting the future of the company at risk, when really, if they dont like the new terms, they should jump ship to a compay that has terms2yearpostie wrote: ↑02 Oct 2022, 18:00

I’m not judging you and have sympathy with your position, but let’s be realistic. We all have different resolutions that would suit us. It is unfair to criticise others that don’t want (or expect) the same outcome as you.

Re: Just remember Guys...
And that is where you are wrong. I am extremely concerned about the race to the bottom for all posties, no matter their duties. I am supporting the CWU to help my colleagues who will face child care issues should later start times come in. I am supporting the CWU to save the terms and conditions of all Posties...jagger wrote: ↑02 Oct 2022, 20:54Let’s be honest here. If I wasn't concerned about my fellow posties, whether they are full time or part time or whether they work in the CSP or back shift collections, or backshift packet duties then why would I be standing with them on the picket lines?

greengiant wrote: ↑30 Sep 2022, 16:23Maybe it's time for the CEO, who wants to break the company, to go and find themselves a more suitable job? The only one blackmailing the company is not the CWU, or the workers, its the CEO!
Thats exactly what I was thinking.
It is the same as people complaining about benefit scroungers. They are easy targets for those that are working but our life sucks because of the government and blaming people on benefits is exactly what they want you to do.
I see the same issue arising here. Its not 2 years posties fault nor the agency staff that we are in this position - its the CEO of Royal Mail. There will always be a minority that don't really care about the company in the same way as us, especially if they have only been there 2 years and have been working all over the place. There will also be some that might be falling into debt because Royal Mail won't improve their part-time contracts and increase their living wage on a permanent basis. I've seen many staff leave Royal Mail because of both of these.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

If they're getting the work covered on OT, then they're not gong to increase the hours of any PT contracts or make any PT up to FTpostslippete wrote: ↑02 Oct 2022, 22:19There will also be some that might be falling into debt because Royal Mail won't improve their part-time contracts and increase their living wage on a permanent basis.
