A lot will accept whatever is on the table at the ballot simply because attitudes are slowly changed with time.
We know their plans are catastrophic but it won't stop a proportion accepting whatever is put up.

I wouldn't put it past RM to slip in "Commit to deliver" into whatever gets voted on

They won’t

They aren’t even proposing that - it was never a serious proposal and was a throwaway comment in a zoom video that people picked up on

They know that any agreement that had that would never get voted in

I think a lot will depend on what the turnout and result is of the next ballot. If either is crap then RM might see it as the green light to try and force through more changes/stuff

100%. Apathy in this next ballot, will enable ST to do pretty much as he pleases, completely unabated. I believe he's counting on this.

Most of what's been offered I am actually fine with as long as....

-It's written into a concrete agreement.

-Thompson and these other amateur managers go as they cannot be trusted.

-The CWU are confident we aren't heading into a gig economy.


I get most people won't be happy with the current pay offer, but how many more times and how much more lost pay do you want to strike for to get a better deal.

It's possible we have done enough already and maybe an agreement can be reached by early January with backdated pay, so maybe it will be over. That's me being optimistic....

My actual feeling is they don't want a deal and will try to force change through, they are going to push through with it all over the next 3 months.

I just hate the unknown.

I’m not happy with any of it. We all know it makes no difference whether it’s written down or not. I would not vote for accepting anything offered from the current regime.

So you will keep striking until ST has resigned?
Out of interest what pay raise deal would you accept and which terms and conditions would you find acceptable to change for the sake of a deal?

I will strike for as long as my union ask me to. But I will not vote in favour of accepting any deal from the current regime. They are liars with a track record of ripping up agreements when they feel like it. So no, there’s nothing they can offer that would be acceptable to me.

Fair enough.
I do wonder if ST will be replaced just before the new agreement is made to give the feel of a clean slate…
