It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. We've had a brief put out today that ours starts on 4th September.
We had the same brief this week. Full timers start 24 minutes earlier, part timers 10 mins, although they are supposed to be doing a max of 30 mins per week extra, but as was pointed out, 5x10 is 50 minutes.
What exactly you can achieve in those 10 minutes? Throw off 2 or 3 walks? Sort 2 yorks of packets? Deliver an extra 50 calls?

Who the hell knows in this shambles of an organisation! And I don't get why they'd want to stop the 'seasonal variation' on
17th December, surely it's going to be busy the last week before Christmas?
Just this Saturday (26th) We were all given a printed sheet with our new start/finish times commencing 4th September. Maybe at our large office they haven't yet received the memo?

The hours have to even out over a 12month period so if they're going to push it back 8 weeks it will have to extend into February and so on? Kind of defeats the object?
