A one week per month walkout would lose the company untold customers. Better, in my opinion than one or two days per week where customers can reschedule their business around our strike days. And we would lose 5 days pay per month maximum.

I agree. A much better strategy and gives RM a chance to come to the table between strike weeks.

I agree however, some want to strike on a Saturday so that they get a weekend off. Striking on a Saturday should be a no no because that is the day Thompson wants to make parcels only anyway. So striking on that day, would simply give them dry runs of parcel only Saturdays.

Terrible for the picket line too, at least as far as my experience on October 1st. Very poor attendance - not that I'm shocked people don't want to stand in front of the office on one of the few Saturdays you get a chance to do something other than work.

Ah 2yr is back on the fishing trips again, lucky enough there is still enough employment law to stop the Slyman from just handing out P45s willy nilly without it costing them a lot of money, court cases and some really bad publicity. For a company which investors are maybe starting to lose confidence in they need to tread carefully. Unless you know something we don't?

Interesting 2yr a quote from the "Dark Lord" as if that is some sort of gospel reading from a religious book. Its sort of hard to believe any of the statement as the offer has been firmly rejected by the members and the CWU represent said members, as for transforming the business i am afraid his vision of turning us all into some sort of terrible hybrid of all delivery companies with victorian working conditions isnt going to wash with the union. My suggestion is to get some perspective and engage sensibly with the union to get a outcome that suits all of us. I am sure you will have some witty retort to entertain us all but the reality is after 6 months of industrial dispute the membership are still very much with the union and if Slyman and the board dont move i am afraid its going to continue.

Well I'll be striking,I have to feel I've done the best I can to get the best possible outcome. And although I personally cant see why anyone wouldnt want do the same,? Well I cant make that decision for them. Many on here have put their case as to why we should fight but some will never be persuaded. That's fair dooz
