The guy who squandered £37 million in a few months isn't going wrestle with sleep.

Oh ... How long did he work for APPLE before the got rid of him?
One bad apple is all it takes.
I've seen it wrote that an Apple insider reckons Simon Thompson is the worse executive Apple have ever had .

Some people can get away with arguing with such a manager but not everyone can.
You don't need to have an argument.
You just need to use a lightweight trolley.

In fact the relevant national agreement states something like - "the use of the correct equipment will be mandatory"
You could use a trolley. You could split the loops. The point I was making is that there are managers who exist who do not care if you are carrying 16kg on your back for 8 loops because you are just a donkey and they want the mail cleared.
’You can't just ask customers what they want and then try to give that to them. By the time you get it built, they'll want something new.’

Why carry all that weight on your shoulder when you can use a trolley. rm will not care when eventually your shoulder is shot to bits. why worry what a manager thinks hes not the one carrying it look after yourself nobody else will.

It depends on the feasibility of using one as you have to secure the mail ie maisonettes and flats are not a good fit you would need to use lower bag weights with stairs involved or rough terrain.

Royal Mail is not heading towards bankruptcy. If it were, Thompson would already be gone.
Exactly . The idiots running this company into the ground can't even lie properly anymore .

well tbf, they are just repeating what they have been ''spoon fed'' by a couple of corrupt bastards. if a company that is generating the money RM does and goes bankrupt, then its massive mismanagement of funds on the grandest scale, and that should put the CEO and the board on the guilotine. lets face it.....who else would be to blame...NOT US.
That ain't gonna mean much if we all end up on the dole though is it.

It's a potential outcome I've already come to peace with to be honest. Companies fail all the time, and with everything going on I wouldn't at all be surprised.

If Royal Mail does go bankrupt then the one and only person to blame will be the person who is paid a shedload of money to make sure that particular outcome doesn't happen.

He doesn't seem to be very good at his job.
He was not very good in test and trace during COVID-19 the app would ping and you could be arrested/detained/interred during the dark days of the pandemic even if allowed out and someone came up with an app that did not work. Guess who and the whole department of test and trace lost £37 billion pounds which is three times the whole revenue of Royal Mail. Who uses the covid app now? I never did but it cost a lost of money like the whole of the defence budget 2020. And now we are stuck with him intransigent belligerent ignorant and worst of all LAZY useless pile of dog poo. My dog can nod it's head and he if he turns up just sits there and says this is my final and best offer. Well your no good at poker and you could not negotiate your way out of a paper bag!
I cannot get over the fact that a little bit of IT to create and deploy Track and Trace could come to an eye watering £37 billion pounds. There is something not quite right there somewhere and should be fully investigated.
'The bit of IT' didn't come to 37 billion. The 37 billion was never even spent, and the vast majority of it went on the free tests everybody had access to.

And how were the tests conducted or sent out and returned? as too the validity of the statement it was never spent where did it go? Well because our government uses this figures and others like bounce back loans and all the other factors during the pandemic as a cost on our debt yet it never happened or was never used?

The tests were posted out or given away. The original budget allocated was 37 billion over two years. In the first year the money spent was 13.5 billion, and in the second year spending was 16 billion making the total spend 29.5 billion (not 37 billion). The vast majority of that spend was the tests.

How much did RM receive through the Tracked 24 contract?
