The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

The Tories, Putin , Labour , the CWU. The Political minded always tear themselves apart and ultimately lose. They can never get passed the egos of the ones who want the top job. Stick with your Union or stack shelves at Tesco. What are you going to achieve with a divided union ? Nothing.

The cwu got the whole strike wrong, they striked on the wrong days and not long enough they are to blame for the whole mess,im voting NO and am willing to strike for the unforseeable.Nickvilla20 wrote: ↑28 Jun 2023, 08:58So the result of a no vote should be all out strikes when people are struggling financially. We’ve done the striking thing it didn’t work. It’s seems emotion has overtaken pragmatism.

Vote Yes. At least you get something before they get everything. Voting No means you get nothing and they get everything. Simple.Nickvilla20 wrote: ↑28 Jun 2023, 08:58So the result of a no vote should be all out strikes when people are struggling financially. We’ve done the striking thing it didn’t work. I assume you are financially comfortable enough to go on week long strikes then? Many can’t and now won’t go on extended strikes we walked out over Xmas and the company hardly budged. Going on strike now will achieve nothing.guardianangel wrote: ↑28 Jun 2023, 16:18The cwu got the whole strike wrong, they striked on the wrong days and not long enough they are to blame for the whole mess,im voting NO and am willing to strike for the unforseeable.Nickvilla20 wrote: ↑28 Jun 2023, 08:58So the result of a no vote should be all out strikes when people are struggling financially. You need to think of an alternative to just strikes if you want to make the company renegotiate.

This was always the end game for Royal Mail since it was sold off. They have been sniping at new starters T&Cs for years now they are coming after the old guard and they isn’t really much use or the union can really do.Trumanity wrote: ↑28 Jun 2023, 17:13Vote Yes. Re: Postal workers: Vote no and defend our terms and conditions
What were the 18 days of strikes for then....
Looking a bit daft now if the net result was bend over and get your yes vote tickled.
Would have saved a lot of time , stress and money if it was all just happening anyway......
Hence why the CWU are rightfully taking a pounding, they have hand in hand with RM led the membership up the delivery point path.
All this said, still see NO result on the horizon.

And let the NO voters keep their current terms and conditions too!!! And those who vote Yes, who are you gonna run to if you have to go of sick with flu because you've been out in the pouring rain for hours on delivery and then get less SSP. Or even worse case scenario, you suffer from ill health because of the job, unable to work elsewhere, and are handed a pittance amount for ill health retirement. Please, see the bigger picture and not just a few pounds pay rise in your pocket. It's a NO vote from me.

That's the worry is grinding your body in the really bad weather going home soaked feeling ill the next day because of the outdoor conditions. All of this in the longer working days during autumn/winter, I really can't see this working. It's all great on paper, but in reality it's a different ball game.Geordiepapa wrote: ↑28 Jun 2023, 19:44koolishy67 wrote: ↑28 Jun 2023, 17:34Voted YES let's give me a my pay rise I don't mind to start late and finish late who ever vote let them stay on same finishing time and don't give them pay rise simple

Over the years including last year in the hot conditions we came in early because by 1pm it was too hot to work outdoors, if we continued people could of been hospitalized or even dead. I don't think the cwu's H&S officer has taken much thought on how the employees will struggle in the hottest part of the day.

With email I got from cwu today, I think I might be. A theory doesn't mean it isn't true

Re: Postal workers: Vote no and defend our terms and conditions
The bigger picture is this is really now the end game, reject this deal and RM will impose whatever they want by EA, voting No isn't going to force RM to up their offer.Geordiepapa wrote: ↑28 Jun 2023, 19:44koolishy67 wrote: ↑28 Jun 2023, 17:34Voted YES let's give me a my pay rise I don't mind to start late and finish late who ever vote let them stay on same finishing time and don't give them pay rise simple
