2020 has been a bastard of a year to go to the cinema and see a movie.
So having said that, what films would you recommend to others?
To jog your memory, here's a mashup of cinema's best of 2020 from the brilliant Sleepy Skunk.
The award-winning Edge of Darkness was a classic BBC six-part miniseries. I remember it so well. Along with Bob Peck (1945–1999), there was Ian McNeice, Charles Kay, Joe Don Baker, and the lovely Joanne Whalley.
Collateral (2004) is certainly a great film, with a decent soundtrack, too. It's one of my favorites in Michael Mann's filmography, which includes other greats like Heat, The Insider, Thief, Miami Vice, and The Last of the Mohicans.Pathfinder wrote: ↑23 Mar 2021, 19:10Turned the tele on few nights ago and Collateral (Cruise and Foxx) came on, though I'd watch 10 minutes and ended up watching the whole thing.
Such a good film![]()

The dialog in Collateral is excellent.![]()
Max (Jamie Foxx): "Hey. He, he, he fell on the cab. He fell, he fell from up there on the motherf*cking cab. Sh*t. I think he's dead."
Vincent (Tom Cruise): "Good guess."
Max: "You killed him?"
Vincent: "No, I shot him. Bullets and the fall killed him."
I'm not a big fan of Tom Cruise, but I do appreciate the fact that he's a consummate actor and to see him playing a bad guy is quite enjoyable.![]()
The Chicago-born movie and TV director/producer/screenwriter is one of my favorites in the business. The 78-year old's next release is a biopic about Enzo Ferrari entitled Ferrari, starring Hugh Jackman.Pathfinder wrote: ↑31 Mar 2021, 16:27Wow, Heat and Last of the Mohicans are favourites of mine I must be a Mann fan!PostmanBitesDog wrote: ↑30 Mar 2021, 20:00Collateral (2004) is certainly a great film, with a decent soundtrack, too.
