It's seems possible that when privatised we will all be sacked an offered re-employment at reduced pay and possibly less hours.
If it happens I suspect it will happen underhandedly, i.e. send you a new contract and continue to pay you with the new rate.
If everybody walked out and demanded their old contract then I believe it would be given back because despite management claims, we ARE Royal Mail and it would not work without our knowledge and skills.
What would you be prepared to do and do you think it will happen?

There's your problem...right there.If everybody walked out
Too many mortgages, kids, car loans, holidays to pay for, rent, food etc....
50% wouldn't walk...and 50% of the 50% that did would be back in inside a week....and the rest.
Let's be honest they wouldn't do it all at once anyway.
They will start with MTSF...gone,Pay Protection....gone,Sick Pay....gone,Pension...well the government will take care of that.
Actual pay rates would be left alone but allowances and supplements would take a hammering then a 5 year pay freeze will bring your wages fully into line with private sector pay rates.
All the time people would be clinging to the fact that they still have a job.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

How the hell can this type of bo..ocks be allowed to happen?
It's like we as a nation have gone back to the Victorian age.
I remember just before the last election, David Milliband was answering Questions
from an audience member, she asked him if he thought it fair that her employer (the fire brigade i believe),was allowed
to do this very same thing? He seemed genuingly taken aback that such underhand dealings went on.
I don't know what is worse, the fact that employers can do anything they like to their employees.Or that a minister at that time
in goverment had no idea of what was going on.

I am suprised they havent given away meal relief, it possibly will go.
royal mail will eventually just have casuals, its good in royal mails eyes.
mail will be delayed, as most offices will have an overtime ban.

We all have to rely on the CWU negotiators with RM but never let them forget that they are answerable to US the members.
