Royal Mail plc (the "Company")Transaction in Own Shares
The Company announces that on 02 March 2022 it had purchased a total 1,610,000 of its ordinary shares of £0.01 each (the "ordinary shares") on the London Stock Exchange, Cboe BXE and Cboe CXE, through the Company's broker, Merrill Lynch International, as detailed below. The repurchased shares will be cancelled.

There WAS a scheme where you could do that.
It allowed you to use the savings built up to buy the shares at 360p each, or withdraw your total savings instead.
The scheme that people are currently paying into via their weekly pay - for those that chose to do so - uses your weekly deductions to purchase shares, in the market, on the 15th of each month, which then go into your Equinity account.
Those that took the maximum now have 2,320 shares in addition to any free shares they might still hold
