My manager is claiming that I'm entitled to a 20-minute break for 4 hours, 30 minutes for 6 hours and and 40 minutes for 8 hours.

Page 23 of the document.Where an attendance is provided with more than one break, the second break may be scheduled at the beginning or end, in which case attendance is not required solely for booking on or off. A single break should not be scheduled at the beginning or end of the attendance.
Can somebody explain this in laymans terms?in which case attendance is not required solely for booking on or off
Think it means you don't have to go back to the office (attend) to sign for completion of your duty. I'm assuming that'spostman_jack wrote:Can somebody explain this in laymans terms?in which case attendance is not required solely for booking on or off
If you have one of your 20-minute breaks at the end of your shift, you can sign out then (20 minutes earlier than your shift ends) instead of waiting till your finishing time to do so.postman_jack wrote:Can somebody explain this in laymen's terms?in which case attendance is not required solely for booking on or off

Your duty should have a plan regarding breaks, you can't make it up as you go along.dianepostie wrote:POSTMAN wrote:You can not have all of your meal relief scheduled at the end of any duty.

Hi there, can someone tell me please.
1)...
I am full time and it is required that I must take my first twenty minute break at some point during my duty time. Does this absolutely have to in the middle of my duty time? Can it be toward the end of my duty?
The reason why I ask this is because my house is ''on route'', back to the office.
2)...
If I take my second 20 minute break at the end of my duty, (as per ''The Way Forward'') how does it work if I go over my finishing time.
Eg. 14.30 minus meal break = 14.10.
If I have not taken my second 20 minute meal break and I have gone over 14.10 by half an hour. Can I claim half an hour.
I'm sorry, I am struggling with my wording with my second question. I hope someone can work out what I'm trying to ask.
Many thanks.
