Example - age 52
34 years service
section C
33% reduction in contracted working week
Obviously pension contributions going forward will be reduced, but are there any implications
for the various historic elements to our pension (final salary/career av/DBCB/etc) when going part time ?
Thanks for any info

Re: pension implications of going part time
I asked the PSC a very similar question a few years ago, but just regarding the final salary element, and the reply they gave me was:
Thank you for your email.
'Going part time will not impact your final salary pension as you have already built up your final salary service up to 31/03/2008 and we base your final salary on the full time equivalent when your pension is calculated.
Please note that your pensionable salary will be lower when you go part time so your contributions to the DBCBS will be based on your lower pensionable pay'.
As far as I'm aware neither the CARE/CSDB pension or the DBCBS that you've built up so far, will be affected either.
